Allen City Council to Designate Official Newspapers and Approve Fiscal Budget

Allen City Council will hold a public hearing on the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget and designate The Star Local Media and The Dallas Morning News as official newspapers. The council will approve an ordinance amending the current budget and adopting the capital improvement program.

Official Newspaper Designation

The Allen City Council will adopt a resolution designating The Star Local Media and The Dallas Morning News as the official newspapers for fiscal year 2026-2027.

This designation covers the upcoming municipal reporting period.

Budget and Capital Program Approval

The council will conduct a public hearing on the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget as required by Article IV, Section 4.04 of the Allen City Charter.

An ordinance will be adopted to approve the new budget, amend the fiscal year 2025-2026 budget, and approve the 2027-2031 Capital Improvement Program.

The proposed budget was posted at www.AllenTX.gov on September 1, 2025, in accordance with Texas Government Code Section 551.043(c).

A taxpayer impact statement compares median-valued homestead property taxes across fiscal years.

The estimated tax bill for a median-valued homestead at the current rate of $0.415400 per $100 is listed alongside the confirmed valuation of $495,846.
