Allen opened Bravo Park at Sloan Corners on Saturday, Aug. 1, with a public celebration that ran from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 785 Bravo Park Drive.

Five acres of the park are now open. At full build the green space is planned at 30 acres.

The opening event included live entertainment, food trucks, local vendors, public art and outdoor activities, along with pickleball demonstrations and dog park activities. Organizers also held a scavenger hunt, a ceremonial tree planting and a community time capsule project.

What it anchors

Bravo Park is the central public space of Sloan Corners, a mixed use development by the Billingsley Company. At full buildout the project is planned to cover 480 acres across Allen and Fairview and to include offices, restaurants, apartments and retail.

The park is the first completed piece of that plan, which means residents get use of the green space well before the surrounding commercial construction finishes.

Practical details

The park is at 785 Bravo Park Drive. The five acres open now include the areas used during the opening event. The city has not announced a date for the remaining phases.
