The filming occurred between August 2025 and March 2026, using various locations such as Dallas and several small towns to depict the fictional town of Rio Paloma.
The series premiered on May 15, 2026, with its first two episodes, and continued weekly for a total of nine episodes, concluding on July 3. During its debut week, "Dutton Ranch" attracted 12.9 million viewers globally, marking the largest original series launch for Paramount+. The premiere also garnered 2.9 million viewers on Paramount Network, making it the biggest cable series premiere since 2023.
The cast features Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth and Rip, alongside actors such as Ed Harris and Annette Bening. The production benefited from Texas's Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, which provides financial support to film and television projects, helping local businesses and economies.
Paramount+ has confirmed a second season for "Dutton Ranch," although a premiere date has yet to be announced.
