Arelion announced on November 13, 2024, that it has deepened its partnership with NETSCOUT to strengthen its mitigation of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. The collaboration is designed to address the growing frequency and complexity of cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure and global enterprises.
Scott Nichols, Chief Commercial Officer at Arelion, stated that the continued collaboration reflects the company's investment in high-quality network security. He noted that the partnership merges Arelion’s global network performance with NETSCOUT’s Arbor DDoS protection solutions to support customers.
The expansion increases the density of network monitoring across Arelion’s global Internet backbone. This provides more granular visibility into traffic patterns, which allows for faster detection of anomalies and quicker responses to threats. The enhanced capabilities include Adaptive DDoS protection, which improves defenses against newer attack vectors and techniques, such as carpet bombing.
Darren Anstee, chief security technologist at NETSCOUT, highlighted that sectors including financial services, government, and utilities face rising risks from sophisticated attacks. He referenced NETSCOUT’s latest DDoS Threat Intelligence Report, which indicates an increase in application-layer and volumetric attacks. Anstee said the partnership will help Arelion provide better protection to enterprises facing frequent cyberattacks.
