Allen, Texas — The San Jose Earthquakes have sent goalkeeper Daniel to FC Dallas, adding a veteran to the North Texas club’s roster for the remainder of the MLS campaign.
The trade can bring San Jose as much as $1 million in General Allocation Money: $700,000 is guaranteed and another $300,000 is tied to conditions, MLS and Field Level Media reported.
André Zanotta, FC Dallas’ chief soccer officer, said Daniel understands the league and will compete within the goalkeeper group. Homegrown keeper Michael Collodi had three shutouts in 13 starts this season.
The deal followed San Jose’s acquisition of goalkeeper Angus Gunn. It is a roster transaction rather than coverage of a match result.
