The Houston Astros defeated the New York Yankees 5-1 on Thursday, August 27, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The win improved Houston’s record to 67-67, while New York dropped to 75-58. Attendance at the venue reached 41,203 fans. The Astros took the lead early and maintained control throughout the evening, outscoring the Yankees in every scoring frame.
Early Lead and Midgame Surge
Houston established an initial advantage in the third inning. Gleyber Paredes singled to right field, allowing Jeremy Peña to score and give the visitors a 1-0 lead. The Astros expanded their margin in the sixth inning when Christian Walker hit a home run to right center.
