Mets Deliver Decisive Blow

Early Scoring and Mid-Inning Surge

Young tripled to right field, scoring Soto and Benge to extend the lead to 4-1. The Astros responded in the eighth inning when Alvarez homered to right center, cutting the deficit to 4-2. However, the Mets closed the game in the same inning.

Alvarez doubled to left field, allowing Semien and Young to score, sealing the 6-2 result.

Pitching Performance

Nolan McLean earned the win for the Mets. He pitched seven innings, allowing just two hits and no earned runs while walking three batters and striking out four. Daniel Duarte recorded the save, pitching one inning with one hit, one earned run, and two strikeouts. Kodai Senga pitched one inning, allowing one hit and no earned runs.

For the Astros, Cristian Javier took the loss. He pitched four and one-third innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs while striking out four. Bennett Sousa pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit and one earned run while walking two.

Enyel De Los Santos pitched two innings, allowing one hit and no earned runs while striking out two. Kai-Wei Teng pitched one inning, allowing three hits and two earned runs.
