Allen ISD students return to class Thursday, Aug. 13, the first day of the 2026-27 school year.

Who rides

Allen ISD offers bus service to all eligible student riders in grades K-12, covering both the trip to school and the trip home each day.

Eligibility runs on distance: students must live two or more miles from the campus they are enrolled in.

Reaching transportation

The department answers from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 972-727-0542. That early start matters on a first morning when a bus has not shown up yet.

Transportation is based at the Allen ISD Service Center, 1451 N. Watters Road. The department is led by director of transportation Karol Day and assistant director Clay Mathews.

The transportation page also carries bus stop information, school bus safety material and details on when drivers on the road are required to stop for a loading or unloading bus.

Before Thursday

Families who rode last year should confirm their stop rather than assume it carried over, since routes are rebuilt between school years. Anyone unsure whether their address qualifies can settle it with the transportation office on the number above.
