Allen ISD students again outperformed state and Region 10 averages on the 2025-26 STAAR and end-of-course exams, and the district received an A rating from the Texas Education Agency, officials told the Board of Trustees on Aug. 24.
Community Impact reported the presentation Sept. 2, noting that TEA released the year’s exam results earlier in the summer and that STAAR performance is one factor in annual accountability ratings.
Jennifer Wilhelm, assistant superintendent of Learner Services, said Allen ISD remains a “high-achievement district” that continues to “outpace” the region and state in “all content areas and grade levels,” according to Community Impact. Staff reported an increase in the share of students who met or mastered grade-level expectations.
“These results evidence increases in performance at the meets and masters performance levels resulting in higher levels of student achievement,” Wilhelm said, as quoted by Community Impact.
How Allen compared
According to the staff presentation summarized by Community Impact, at least 88% of Allen ISD students approached grade level or higher, compared with 74% of students statewide.
Wilhelm reviewed results for grades 3-8 STAAR tests and high school end-of-course exams in Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II and U.S. History. TEA measures performance on four levels: did not meet, approaches, meets and masters grade level. Students who do not meet grade-level standards have not passed the test, according to TEA information cited in the Community Impact report.
Wilhelm described the overall pattern as a “mostly steady trend” compared with the prior year and thanked teachers and campus leaders for their work.
