Major League Soccer's All-Stars are set to play against Liga MX's All-Stars at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The match is scheduled for 8 p.m. and continues the tradition of pitting the two North American leagues against each other.
This exhibition occurs during a compressed MLS calendar, which saw a pause from late May to mid-July for the World Cup, hosted across North America. The league resumed on July 16 with a series of rivalry matches.
Charlotte FC head coach Dean Smith was responsible for selecting the MLS side, which consists of 29 players. The roster was formed through a combination of fan votes, Smith's selections, and picks made by MLS commissioner Don Garber. Eleven players were voted in by supporters, while Smith added twelve players and Garber made two selections.
Among the notable names on the roster are Son Heung-min and Thomas Muller, alongside players such as Toronto FC's Richie Laryea. The Vancouver Whitecaps contributed three players to the squad.
In the days leading up to the match, the roster experienced changes. Initially, players Hugo Cuypers, Rodrigo De Paul, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, and Lionel Messi were included but were later replaced for various reasons, with Messi and De Paul excused for rest.
Liga MX's squad consists of 24 players, with Toluca having four representatives after recently winning the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup. Cruz Azul boasts the highest number of players with five, while CF Pachuca also has four representatives.
