J.P. Hurlbert, an Allen resident, has spent more than ten years honing his hockey skills at the Children’s Health StarsCenter in Valley Ranch. The facility, operated by his hometown Dallas Stars, has served as his primary training ground since he was four years old. He currently dedicates six days each week to drills and practice at the rink.
Hurlbert’s efforts are aimed at reaching the National Hockey League. The NHL Draft is scheduled to begin Friday night. As of Thursday morning, the Dallas Stars did not hold a first-round selection in the draft.
