Construction has officially commenced on the Rosamond Town Center in Anna, Texas, following a groundbreaking ceremony held on June 30. The event was attended by representatives from Big V Property Group, The Seitz Group, Principal Asset Management®, and Citizens Bank, along with local officials.

Rosamond Town Center is part of a larger retail project that will encompass 750,000 square feet in Collin County. This center will complement the existing Rosamond Crossing and is financed through a mix of developer equity, Principal Asset Management® funding, and a construction loan from Citizens Bank.

The development aims to serve the rapidly growing community of Anna, which is expected to see its population increase at a rate 13 times faster than the national average over the next decade.

Located at the southeast corner of Rosamond Parkway and Highway 75, the new open-air center will feature 355,826 square feet of retail space. It will be anchored by well-known retailers including Academy Sports + Outdoors, Aldi, Burlington, EOS Fitness, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, PetSmart, and T.J. Maxx, along with several outparcels and specialty shops.

Kenton McKeehan, President and Chief Investment Officer of Big V Property Group, expressed pride in contributing to Anna's growth, stating that the development extends the Metroplex by nine miles.

Danielle Kaufman from The Seitz Group emphasized the importance of partnerships in successful developments, while Anna Mayor Pete Cain highlighted the project as a transformative milestone for the city, expected to create 750 new jobs and enhance the local retail and tax base.

Texas Representative Keresa Richardson remarked on the significance of this development, linking it to the celebration of America's 250th anniversary and Texas's leadership in growth. The development team received a Congressional Commendation from U.S. Representative Keith Self, acknowledging the collaborative efforts between the City of Anna and the private sector in driving this project forward.

Big V Property Group operates multiple properties across Texas, including several prominent shopping centers, and aims to enhance retail offerings in the state through its developments. Further details about the project and its timeline have not yet been disclosed.
