The Big 12 Conference is hosting its annual media days at the Dallas Cowboys headquarters, known as The Star, located in Frisco. Frisco is about 9 miles west of Allen. The event provides the first official look at the Baylor Bears as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Baylor has confirmed the list of student-athletes who will attend the media sessions. The group includes quarterback DJ Lagway, defensive end Kyler Jordan, defensive back Michael Allen, defensive tackle Jamaal Whyce Jr., tight end Matthew Klopfenstein, and linebacker Kyland Reed.

The media day schedule is divided across two days. On Tuesday, July 7, representatives from Arizona State, BYU, UCF, Colorado, Houston, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech will participate alongside Baylor. The following day, Wednesday, July 8, the conference will feature attendees from Arizona, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, TCU, Utah, and West Virginia.

Attention is focused on Baylor head coach Dave Aranda, who is attending his seventh Big 12 media day. The team did not qualify for a bowl game last season, leading to speculation regarding Aranda's future with the program.

Offensive coordinator Jake Spavital, in his third year, aims to maintain the team's high-ranking offense. Quarterback DJ Lagway, a transfer from Florida who committed in January, has taken over the starting role from Sawyer Robertson.

The defense is also a point of discussion, as the unit finished at the bottom of conference rankings last season. Baylor has appointed Joe Klanderman as its new defensive coordinator. The team looks to address these challenges when it opens the season on September 5 in Atlanta against Auburn.

Details regarding the specific questions to be addressed during the media sessions or the final outcomes of the conference standings are not yet clear.
