Allen Eagles climb into top 10 on latest USA TODAY Super 25

The Allen High School football team rose from No. 11 to sixth place in the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings following a decisive victory over Southlake Carroll.

Allen moved up five spots to No. 6 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Super 25 high school football rankings, marking a significant jump for the Texas program that began the season unranked. The Eagles improved to a 3-0 record after defeating Southlake Carroll 56-35. That win followed earlier victories over Duncanville and DeSoto, propelling the team into the top tier of national rankings.

In California, Mater Dei surged from No. 14 to ninth place after securing a 10-9 victory over previously ranked seventh-place Centennial. The Monarchs improved to 4-0 with the win, which stands as their strongest result of the season. They are now positioned ahead of an upcoming matchup against Bishop Gorman.

Baylor from Chattanooga, Tennessee, remained at No. 13 after defeating Trinity of Louisville, Kentucky, 35-27. Running back David Gabriel Georges contributed significantly to the win with 315 rushing yards and five touchdowns. The victory improved Baylor’s record to 4-0.

St. Thomas Aquinas retained the top spot in the rankings with a 4-0 record after a 49-0 shutout of Dillard. IMG Academy held steady at No. 2 despite sitting out this week, while St. Frances Academy stayed at third after beating Bryant 40-7. Buford and Santa Margarita also maintained their positions at fourth and fifth, respectively.

Other notable movements included Waxahachie rising to No. 14 after a 44-30 win over Guyer, and Brownsburg climbing to No. 18 following a 49-7 victory against Avon. North Crowley moved up to No. 19 with a 41-20 win over Summer Creek, while Hough advanced to No. 21 after defeating Mooresville 49-10.

Centennial dropped out of the top 10 to No. 24 with a 1-2 record, and Trinity fell to No. 25 after its loss to Baylor. The full list of rankings for Week 5 includes teams from across the country, with Don Bosco Prep and Lee County added to the watch list.
