Plano is preparing to welcome its first Miyako Hotels & Resorts property, with the Miyako Hybrid Hotel Plano expected to open in late 2027. The 12-story boutique hotel will be the third location in the United States and the first in Texas. The project is developed by Japan's Kintetsu Group and is situated in the Legacy area, which is approximately 6 miles south of Allen.

The facility will contain 217 guest rooms, including 11 suites. One of these is designated as the signature Imperial Suite. Public areas within the building are designed to blend Japanese design elements with modern Texas comfort.

The property will feature a traditional Japanese restaurant, a Japanese bakery, an upscale lobby lounge and bar, and a rooftop bar offering panoramic views. Additionally, the hotel will provide more than 5,000 square feet of space for meetings and events.

Plans for the hotel were first unveiled in 2024. The city of Plano approved economic incentives to support the development, citing the project's cultural significance and potential long-term economic impact. Construction began after the ground-breaking ceremony, and developers state the project remains on schedule for the late 2027 opening date.

The hotel aims to serve both business and leisure travelers. The Legacy district is already home to numerous Japanese companies and serves as a hub for international business. City officials and developers view the hotel as a reinforcement of Plano's relationship with Japan and its reputation as an international business destination.

The property is expected to complement the city's existing upscale accommodations and attract corporate travel and tourism.

Further details regarding the project, including updated renderings and construction plans, have been released as development continues. Specifics on the exact cost of the economic incentives or the final interior design selections are not yet clear.
