Sazon De Loa, a Mexican restaurant located on Renner Road in Plano, has seen a significant increase in patronage after the owner’s 15-year-old daughter posted a request for support on social media. The establishment, which specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine prepared by chef and owner Rafael De Loa, was nearly forced to close just last month due to insufficient business.
The sudden turnaround occurred after a TikTok video shared by the owner’s daughter, Leslie De Loa, gained widespread attention.
Leslie De Loa’s video featured a direct appeal to the public, stating that her family’s business was struggling to attract customers. She highlighted her father’s hard work and invited people to visit the restaurant for food and drinks. The post was amplified by TikToker Bucky Wild Child, who has more than 110,000 followers and had previously dined at the Renner Road location.
The combination of the family’s plea and the influencer’s reach drew crowds to the restaurant.
Patrons have traveled from various distances to support the business. Customer Jhazmin Martinez noted that she saw the video and decided to visit for a date night. Fellow customer Jesus Martinez praised the food as delicious.
Other visitors, such as Diego Osorio, expressed surprise at the large crowds, noting that wait times could exceed an hour. Despite the delays, customers like C.J. Nelson indicated they were willing to wait for the quality of the meal.
The rapid shift in fortune has been emotional for the De Loa family. Rafael De Loa described the situation as a miracle, noting that the restaurant had struggled for nearly two years prior to the video. He explained that the lack of business previously made it difficult to retain staff, as workers could not earn tips.
