According to the 2026 Massey Ratings, Allen entered the contest as the number one team in the state and is expected to retain that position following the weekend's results.
Southlake Carroll opened the scoring with two passing touchdowns from Hudson Tomcheck, a three-star recruit from the class of 2028. The Eagles responded through the efforts of junior running back Jrue Simmons, who rushed for two touchdowns and over 100 yards. A blocked punt also contributed to Allen's momentum.
Lyndon Spriggs added a three-yard run to close the gap before halftime. With two seconds left in the first half, sophomore quarterback Ty Snell completed a 40-yard touchdown pass to Zach Williams, extending the lead to 35-21. Snell, a four-star recruit with offers from multiple Power Five schools, finished the game with three passing touchdowns, including a 70-yard strike. For the season, he has completed 22 of 31 passes for 333 yards and six touchdowns. Allen head coach Lee Wiginton praised Snell's dedication to studying the game and his work ethic in an interview with Rivals.
