Students in the Wylie Independent School District demonstrated improved performance on the Spring 2026 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exams, with districtwide scores rising in four of five end-of-course subjects. According to data released by the Texas Education Agency, at least 88% of students met grade-level standards in every tested category, with Biology achieving the highest proficiency rate at 98%.
Districtwide results showed Algebra I scores climbing three percentage points to 96%, while Biology rose one point to 98%. English I improved by two points to reach 88%, and English II increased by one point to also hit 88%. The only subject to see a decline was U.S. History, which dropped one percentage point but still maintained a 97% proficiency rate.
Performance varied across the district’s high schools. At Wylie High School, Algebra I scores increased three points to 94%. English I remained steady at 88%, while English II decreased one point to 89%. Biology and U.S. History each fell one point but still saw 97% of students meet standards.
Wylie East High School recorded improvements in every subject except U.S. History. English I and English II each jumped four points to 88%, and Algebra I rose four points to 93%. Biology increased one point to 98%, while U.S. History dipped one point to 97%.
At WISD Achieve Academy, all students taking Biology met grade-level standards. However, English II declined ten points to 57%, and U.S. History fell nine points to 86%.
Among junior high schools, all Algebra I students at McMillan and Burnett campuses met grade-level standards for the second year in a row. Cooper Junior High saw a one-point dip but still posted a 99% proficiency rate.
