Allen, Texas, encouraged residents to check on friends and relatives and learn about available support as the city recognized September 2026 as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, according to a city recap published Sept. 29.
Mayor Chris Schulmeister issued the proclamation alongside representatives of LifePath Systems and Police Chief Steve Dye. Dye highlighted the city's partnership with LifePath, whose services include counseling, case management and early intervention, the recap said.
The council encouraged residents to talk openly about mental health and help people find resources. LifePath Systems provides behavioral-health services to Collin County residents; information about accessing care is available on its appointment-information page.
