In a recent volleyball match against TCU, Texas Longhorns' outside hitter Abby Vander Wal left the game after sustaining a knee injury during the first set. The incident occurred when Vander Wal fell during a play on the left side of the court and remained down, visibly in pain while clutching her knee.
She was assisted off the court by training staff, as she could not bear weight on her injured leg. Vander Wal did not return for the remainder of the set, which the Longhorns won by sweeping TCU. Prior to her exit, she had made contributions with two kills and her topspin serve played a role in initiating two scoring runs for the team.
As of now, further information on the extent of Vander Wal's injury is not available, and the situation is still developing.
