Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently classified as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as reported by head coach Dave Aranda. The team is hopeful that Lagway will be fit to play in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
Lagway suffered the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener. He played the entire match, demonstrating strong leadership despite limited mobility. In his debut, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes for a total of 333 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
His performance included a late-game rally that saw him connect with Gavin Freeman for a crucial 28-yard pass on a fourth-and-10, followed by a 27-yard pass to Jadon Porter, which set up a touchdown pass to Freeman with just 9 seconds left in the game.
Updates regarding Lagway's recovery are anticipated after practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the team continues to assess his condition.
