Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said safety Jalen Thompson is likely to miss at least four weeks with a hamstring injury. He also indicated the team will look for additional help at safety, although no potential players or teams were identified.
Thompson was hurt in Dallas’ 34-31 defeat against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. The Cowboys seemed positioned to send the game to overtime, but Baltimore connected on a lengthy pass and later won with a field goal.
Dallas entered that game 1-2. The team had previously surrendered a strong offensive showing to the New York Giants in Week 1 and allowed Marcus Mariota to generate late production in Week 2. The Cowboys are set to face the 0-3 Houston Texans next Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern time in Houston.
