The Green Bay Packers have agreed to sign guard Laken Tomlinson from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad, NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported. Tomlinson did not appear in Dallas’ first two games, and the timing of his Packers debut has not been announced. The move leaves Dallas with Marcellus Johnson and Wanya Morris as its two practice-squad offensive linemen.
Tomlinson, 34, arrived in Dallas earlier this month after All-Pro guard Tyler Smith underwent thumb surgery and was placed on injured reserve. Smith can become eligible to return after Week 4. Johnson is a tackle who has yet to appear in an NFL game, while Morris has lined up at both left and right tackle during his three-year career.
Detroit chose Tomlinson in the first round of the 2015 draft. He has played 173 games and started 162 across 11 NFL seasons, including a 2021 Pro Bowl selection with San Francisco. His other teams include the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans, for whom he played 10 games in 2025.
Green Bay has faced offensive-line injuries, with Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele missing Week 3. Bako-Bewele will miss the rest of the season because of a torn patellar tendon. Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been sacked eight times, and Pro Football Focus credits the team with allowing 57 pressures through three games.
Tomlinson surrendered three sacks and 11 pressures for Houston last season. Dallas is set to play at Green Bay in Week 6.
