The Dallas Cowboys have officially reduced their roster from 91 players to the required 53 in preparation for the 2026 NFL season. This announcement coincides with the team's plans for their season opener in East Rutherford, as they also work to finalize their practice squad.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed that the roster cuts were particularly tough this year due to the depth and talent present within the team. The initial roster features three quarterbacks, three running backs, and six wide receivers, along with a variety of players across defensive and special teams positions.
The roster includes notable names such as Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, along with a strong defensive lineup that features Quinnen Williams and Von Miller. Several players have been designated for injured reserve or the physically unable to perform list, including linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore.
The Cowboys are expected to make further roster adjustments as they finalize their preparations for the upcoming season.
