The Houston Texans are 0-2 entering Sunday’s AFC South opener against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, with coach DeMeco Ryans evaluating possible offensive line changes. Ryans discussed the issue Wednesday at the Houston Methodist Training Center after Houston lost 20-6 at home to Cincinnati. C.J.
Stroud was pressured on 45.5% of his dropbacks against the Bengals’ man coverage, and the Texans ran for 18 yards on 12 attempts.
Trent Brown received much of the attention following his problems against Cincinnati’s pass rush. Blake Fisher, a Notre Dame product selected in the second round of the 2024 draft, is a candidate for the right tackle spot after displaying strength and mobility in training camp. Wyatt Teller also could move into a full-time starting guard role beside rookie center Keylan Rutledge.
Houston has not announced whether Fisher or Teller will start against the Colts.
Indianapolis will be without Alec Pierce, who went on injured reserve because of a heel injury, coach Shane Steichen said. The Colts signed veteran receiver Darius Slayton and placed Eli Pancol on their practice squad. Josh Downs, Keenan Allen and rookie tight end Tyler Warren remain receiving options, while Taylor is described as an underneath threat.
