DJ Lagway's status remains unsettled as Baylor approaches its game with Louisiana Tech. The quarterback is considered doubtful for Saturday, which could result in Nate Bennett making a second consecutive start. Baylor coach Dave Aranda said Lagway felt good during a Sunday practice, and Lagway was expected to take part in team work during the week.

Lagway hurt his ankle in Baylor's 17-16 season-opening loss to Auburn. He threw for 333 yards, produced two touchdown passes and had one interception, with a wrap later visible around the ankle. He did not play against Prairie View A&M, when Bennett completed 24 of 36 passes for 314 yards in a 44-3 victory. Bennett had three touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown.

On3 reporter Pete Nakos said Lagway is expected to be ready for Baylor's meeting with Colorado. Baylor is monitoring the recovery cautiously before playing Louisiana Tech and starting Big 12 competition. Colorado is scheduled to play Northwestern before its trip to Baylor. The Colorado game is set for 10 a.m. MT on Sept. 26 and could feature Lagway against Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis.
