The Dallas Cowboys are facing another setback in the secondary before their Week 3 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. Starting safety Jalen Thompson injured his left leg during a second-quarter tackle attempt and could not put weight on it. He left for evaluation in the blue medical tent and is listed as questionable to return with a hamstring injury.

The Cowboys were already without free safety Malik Hooker, who has a forearm injury from Week 1, and starting cornerback Cobie Durant, who suffered a hamstring issue in Week 2. PJ Locke, who replaced Hooker, is out with a foot injury.

Dallas promoted slot defender Reddy Steward from the practice squad before the game. Rookie first-round pick Caleb Downs, who has college experience at safety, has also been on the practice squad. Alijah Clark moved into the safety role after Thompson’s injury alongside Markquese Bell.

Bell drew a defensive pass interference penalty that helped set up Derrick Henry’s touchdown in the first half. Further details about Thompson’s condition and any effect on the Cowboys’ defensive approach were not available.
