The Houston Texans have encountered a significant setback as defensive end Ali Gaye sustained a serious knee injury during a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers. An MRI confirmed the injury's severity, indicating that Gaye will need a medical procedure and face a lengthy recovery.
Gaye, who was carted off the field after being unable to put weight on his leg, was working hard to secure a position on Houston's defensive line with the regular season approaching. Standing 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 265 pounds, Gaye entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent from LSU in 2023.
