The TCU Horned Frogs have locked in their final non-conference opponent for the 2028 football season, selecting the Northwestern State Demons. The matchup is scheduled for Saturday, September 2, 2028, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. Allen, Texas, is located approximately 15 miles east of Fort Worth, placing the venue within a short drive for local fans.

A public records request revealed that TCU will pay a $600,000 guarantee to Northwestern State for the appearance.

This contest will represent only the second meeting between the two programs in football history. Their previous encounter took place in 2001, where the Demons secured a 27-24 victory in overtime. Northwestern State, based in Natchitoches, Louisiana, competes in the Football Championship Subdivision within the Southland Conference.

Head coach Blaine McCorkle currently leads a team that has started the season with losses to Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech.

The addition of the Demons completes TCU's non-conference schedule. The Horned Frogs will open their 2028 campaign at home against Louisiana on August 26, followed by a road trip to Duke on September 9. While the Big 12 Conference has not yet released specific conference opponents, TCU is expected to play five home games and four road games during the year.

Northwestern State is also set to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
