North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks announced Sept. 17 that he had changed his commitment from Stephen F. Austin to TCU, giving the Horned Frogs their 19th pledge for the 2027 class.

Brooks, who is 6 feet 5 and 265 pounds, said he made the choice after talking with his family and praying. He also said the move would allow him to stay close to home. His previous offers were primarily from Football Championship Subdivision programs, including SFA and Southern University.

TCU is his first Football Bowl Subdivision offer, and Brooks chose the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.

Brooks has helped North Crowley start the season 3-0. The Panthers have defeated Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. North Crowley is scheduled to play at Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. TCU’s 2027 class is ranked 54th nationally and eighth in the Big 12, according to a report by sports.yahoo.com.
