The Houston Texans are evaluating the addition of cornerback Jaden Davis, who previously played for the Arizona Cardinals. Recently, Davis was cleared to play and took part in a workout with the Texans, according to Aaron Wilson from KPRC 2 on September 5.

Davis was drafted by the Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, being the 226th overall selection. A video shared on social media showcased his readiness to return to the field. The Texans aim to strengthen their cornerback position, which has been challenged by injuries since 2025.

Currently, Jalen Pitre, a safety, is stepping into the nickelback role, while Jaylin Smith, a third-round selection from the 2025 draft, has faced significant injury issues during his rookie season.

The Athletic's draft guide highlighted Davis as one of the top remaining prospects. NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein noted his agility and foot speed as a nickel corner, but mentioned that improving his anticipation skills would be crucial for his success in the NFL. Further updates regarding Davis's potential signing with the Texans are anticipated as the situation progresses.
