Baylor University has officially added Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis roster for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano shared his excitement about the new signing, noting Duanrui's strong work ethic, mental resilience, and commitment to growth.
Duanrui, from Tianjin, China, has reached career-high rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. Throughout her career, she has achieved 52 singles victories, with significant wins at the M15 Tianjin in 2026 and the W15 tournaments in Luan and Maanshan in 2025.
In doubles, she has made it to the quarterfinals five times, including her performances at the 2026 W15 Tianjin and three separate draws at the 2025 W15 Luan, along with another quarterfinal appearance at the 2025 W15 Maanshan.
The Baylor women's tennis team finished the 2025 season with a ranking of No. 34 in the ITA Year-End team standings, marking their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their 19th journey to the second round. The season also featured two players qualifying for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, three ranked victories, and four All-Big 12 selections.
