The TCU Horned Frogs secured a decisive victory over the Grambling Tigers with a final score of 63-7, showcasing an offensive explosion that left little doubt about the outcome from the opening drive. Played at home in Fort Worth, the Horned Frogs (1-1) leveraged a balanced attack to overcome a brief early challenge, ultimately establishing control through the air and on the ground.
Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown
TCU began the contest with immediate momentum, scoring first in the opening period. Major Everhart punched it in from 8 yards out, aided by a Nate McCashland extra point, to take a 7-0 lead. Grambling responded in the second quarter when Reginald Johnson connected with Byron Eaton Jr. on a 7-yard pass for their only touchdown of the game, briefly making the score 7-7.
However, TCU’s offense quickly reasserted its dominance. Jon Denman followed with a 1-yard run to restore the two-score deficit at 14-7. Ka’Morreun Pimpton then caught a 9-yard pass from Jaden Craig to push the margin to 21-7 before halftime. Joe Pitchford added another score on a 1-yard run just before the break, making it 28-7.
The third quarter saw TCU extend its lead further. Kari Ashley hauled in a 29-yard touchdown pass from Craig, followed by Jeremy Scott’s 52-yard reception, turning the game into a rout at 42-7. The fourth quarter provided no reprieve for Grambling.
Ashley caught his second touchdown of the day on a 15-yard pass. TCU then capitalized on defensive breakdowns with Teon Parks returning an interception 67 yards for a score, and Amante Martin capping the scoring with a 10-yard run. The final tally stood at 63-7.
