Offensive Explosion
Austin Baldwin delivered a career-best performance with five hits, including two home runs, while Austin Riley contributed two long balls to lead the Atlanta Braves to an 8-5 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday at Truist Park. The win improved the Braves’ record to 57-41, while the Rangers fell to 50-49.
Baldwin’s power display was pivotal in establishing Atlanta’s lead early. In the first inning, Harris II hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Baldwin, giving the Braves a 1-0 advantage. Riley followed up in the second inning with a 416-foot home run to left field, extending the lead to 2-0.
Baldwin answered in the third with a 395-foot home run to right center, pushing the margin to 3-0.
Riley continued his dominance in the fourth inning, launching a 413-foot home run to center field. The hit marked his second home run of the game and extended Atlanta’s lead to 4-0 before the Rangers could respond.
Rangers Rally in Fifth
The Texas Rangers began to chip away at the deficit in the fifth inning. Langford doubled to left field, allowing Lopez to score and putting Pederson in scoring position. Jung followed with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Pederson and making it 4-2. Burger then singled to left, driving in Langford to bring the score to 4-3.
