Alonso’s power display was a defining factor in the game. His first blast came in the second inning, a two-run shot to left field that extended Baltimore’s lead. He added another multi-run homer in the fourth inning, driving the score further away from Texas.

Scoring Breakdown

Baltimore established early control, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning through infield action and a double by Taveras. Cowser added a solo home run in the second to make it 3-0 before Alonso’s first homer pushed the margin to 5-0.

Pitching Performance

The Rangers’ starting pitcher Kumar Rocker took the loss, allowing six earned runs on seven hits over three innings while striking out five. Jordan Montgomery pitched four innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits and two strikeouts. Cole Winn worked two innings, surrendering one earned run with three strikeouts.

For Baltimore, Yaramil Hiraldo earned the win after pitching two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Alex Hoppe and Andrew Kittredge each threw a perfect inning of relief, preserving the lead.
