FRISCO - Big 12 Football Media Days is returning to Ford Center at The Star on July 7-8, putting one of college football's preseason showcases about nine miles west of Allen.
The event is where Big 12 coaches and selected players meet reporters, preview the season and shape the questions that will follow their teams into training camp. It is not a game, but it is one of the first major football markers of the summer.
For Allen, the event is close enough to feel local. Colorado coach Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders is expected to be one of the biggest draws, while Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark and a quarterback group that includes DJ Lagway, Julian Lewis, Conner Weigman, Noah Fifita, Avery Johnson, Devon Dampier and Jaylen Raynor give the Frisco stop national weight.
