Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes without an interception, including the 249th of his career, as Dallas beat the Washington Commanders 37-20 at AT&T Stadium. The mark moved Prescott past Tony Romo’s franchise record of 248 and evened the Cowboys’ record at 1-1.
CeeDee Lamb caught eight passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns. His 24-yard reception from Prescott in the fourth quarter set the record. Jake Ferguson caught the other two touchdown passes, including a 12-yard score shortly after rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham forced a fumble early in the third quarter. Dee Winters recovered inside Washington’s 20-yard line. Brandon Aubrey made field goals of 25, 44 and 60 yards.
Washington held the ball longer, 31:29, gained 389 yards and ran for 182 yards, but Dallas forced the only turnover and limited the Commanders to 20 points. Winters and Caleb Downs each made nine tackles, while Barham had seven. Safety P.J. Locke left with a foot injury on Washington’s first series, and cornerback Cobie Durant exited with a hamstring injury.
Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels dislocated his left elbow on the final play of the first half. Coach Dan Quinn said imaging showed no fracture, and Marcus Mariota finished the game. Dallas plays Baltimore on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, with kickoff at 3:25 p.m. Central.
