Allen's FFA chapter has been rated a three-star chapter in the National FFA Organization's 2026 National Chapter Award Program, and the school board is set to recognize it at tonight's meeting.
The three-star rating is the highest level the national organization awards in the program, and Allen ISD says it places the chapter among the top 10% of FFA chapters in the country. The district credits the chapter with meeting the program's quality standards and carrying out a full Program of Activities, the yearly plan that chapters submit.
Advisors Stacy Schertz and Grant Brill lead the program, according to the recognition item in the board packet.
How a chapter gets there
The ratings come at the end of a multi-step process, according to the National FFA Organization. A chapter first has to meet minimum quality standards and complete at least 15 activities, one for each of five standards in each of three divisions: growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture.
State judges then rank chapters gold, silver or bronze, and only gold-rated chapters can compete for a national one-, two- or three-star rating.
