Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen is preparing to finish out unused space on its third floor as a new patient care unit, according to a project registered with the state Thursday, Oct. 8.

The filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, titled "Texas Health Allen 3rd Floor Finish Out," describes building out 23,190 square feet of existing shell space at the hospital, 1105 N. Central Expressway. The scope lists a new patient care unit with 25 patient rooms and supporting spaces.

The estimated cost is $10,208,431. Construction is scheduled to begin Jan. 5, 2027, and wrap up Sept. 5, 2027, the registration shows. The project is privately funded, and the filing lists Perkins Will, at a Dallas address, as the design firm.

The filing does not say what kind of care the new unit will provide, and the hospital had not posted an announcement about the project on its website as of Thursday.
