Houston beat Toronto 7-2 on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at Daikin Park, with Trammell providing the biggest swing in a five-run fifth inning.
Trammell homered to right, a 388-foot drive that scored Walker and Altuve, and the Astros turned a tie game into a 6-2 lead. Altuve also singled in two runs in the game, including one in the seventh that set the final margin.
Astros score first
Houston took a 1-0 lead in the fourth when Diaz singled to left and Altuve scored, with Trammell moving to second. The Astros added another run in the same inning when Smith singled to left. Trammell scored on the play, Smith reached second on a throwing error by left fielder Sánchez, and Diaz reached third on the error.
Toronto tied it in the fifth. Straw tripled to center, scoring Giménez, and then scored on a wild pitch by Hayden Wesneski to make it 2-2.
Houston answered in the bottom of the fifth. Altuve reached on an infield single to shortstop, bringing in Alvarez and moving Walker to second. Trammell followed with the only home run of the game, scoring Walker and Altuve for a 6-2 Astros lead.
