Dallas is about 23 miles south of Allen. The 2026 North Texas Giving Day campaign received more than $76 million from 94,700 donors by midnight on Sept. 17, according to totals reported by Local Profile. Communities Foundation of Texas organized the 18th annual event, and Dallas issued a proclamation naming Sept. 17, 2026, as North Texas Giving Day.
The money went to more than 3,300 nonprofits across 25 areas, including education, health, social services, arts, environmental work and animal welfare. The preliminary figure was higher than the $74.2 million given by 94,000 donors at the same stage in 2025. That earlier campaign ultimately reached $78 million after contributions were processed through Sept. 30.
Since the event launched in 2009, donors have contributed $788 million to North Texas nonprofits. Amazon, the presenting sponsor, also gave support to 15 participating nonprofits. Communities Foundation of Texas and its sponsors covered transaction and technology fees for gifts made through NorthTexasGivingDay.org, sending the entire tax-deductible contribution to its designated nonprofit.
The platform remains available year-round for cause campaigns, matching fundraisers, corporate group gifts and nonprofit-led fundraising. The next event is set for Sept. 16, 2027.
