Raiders Complete Comeback in Final Minutes
The Las Vegas Raiders secured a 22-20 victory over the Houston Texans on Friday at Reliant Stadium, overcoming a significant first-half deficit to improve their record to 1-1. The home team fell to 0-2 after failing to convert a late lead into a win. Attendance at the venue totaled 69,765 as the visitors executed a decisive fourth-quarter push to take the lead for good.
Early Momentum Shifts
Houston opened the contest with a dominant offensive display, establishing a 17-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Woody Marks scored the first touchdown on a 20-yard run, followed by Wade Woodaz returning an interception 80 yards for a score. Ka'imi Fairbairn extended the advantage with a 51-yard field goal.
The Raiders managed only a 52-yard field goal by Matt Gay in the second quarter, leaving them trailing 17-3 at halftime. Fairbairn added a 57-yard field goal late in the half to close the gap to 20-17 before the break.
Decisive Fourth Quarter
The second half featured a change in pace as Las Vegas took control. Dylan Laube ran for a 4-yard touchdown in the third quarter, giving the Raiders a 10-20 deficit. In the fourth quarter, Dare Ogunbowale scored on a 19-yard run, with the point-after attempt failing to keep the game within reach.
