Allen and Coppell high school football programs have been included in the MaxPreps national preseason rankings for the 2026 season. The publication expanded its list from 25 to 100 teams, with Texas schools comprising the largest state contingent at 15 entries.
Allen entered the rankings at No. 18, following a Class 6A Division I state semifinal appearance last year. The team finished the 2025 campaign with a 14-1 record, marking its deepest playoff run since 2018. The Eagles graduated over 40 seniors from that roster and will rely on underclassmen such as sophomore quarterback Ty Snell and sophomore receiver Zach Williams.
Multi-year starters senior defensive back Trey Roberson and senior running back Lyndon Spriggs will also return.
Coppell was ranked at No. 92. The Cowboys finished last season 10-2 and reached the regional semifinals, extending a streak of three consecutive double-digit win seasons under head coach Antonio Wiley. Junior quarterback Carter Zingelmann and three-star senior defensive back Jaden Bibbs are among the key returning players.
Other Texas programs on the list include Duncanville at No. 10, Galena Park North Shore at No. 27, Southlake Carroll at No. 29, DeSoto at No. 33, South Oak Cliff at No. 36, Waxahachie at No. 50, North Crowley at No. 54, Aledo at No. 57, C.E.
