The Cowboys will be without cornerback Cobie Durant, safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown when they meet the Ravens in Brazil. Dallas and Baltimore are both 1-1 this NFL season. All four players missed the Cowboys' Wednesday and Thursday practices and will not travel to Rio de Janeiro.
Durant, who joined Dallas this offseason after four seasons with the Rams, opened the first two games and played 87 defensive snaps before a hamstring injury against Washington last Sunday. He was expected to miss multiple weeks. Hooker has been out since breaking his forearm in the opener against the New York Giants. He started that game but left after 12 defensive snaps.
Locke replaced Hooker against Washington and played 31 defensive snaps before tearing the plantar fascia in his foot. Overshown will miss his second consecutive game because of an opener-related hamstring strain. He had seven tackles before leaving that contest.
Jaishawn Barham is expected to take on a larger role, and second-year cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. is expected to see additional snaps with Durant unavailable. The game is set for 3:25 p.m. CT at Maracanã Stadium, with Dallas designated as the home team.
