The Texans have added $1 million to the maximum value of Trent Brown’s 2026 playing-time incentives, increasing it from $1.5 million to $2.5 million. Spotrac’s Michael Ginnitti detailed the revised terms Sept. 16 in a post on X.
Brown can receive a $500,000 bonus at each of five playing-time marks: 50%, 55%, 60%, 65% and 70%. Troy Chapman of Over The Cap previously reported that the changes did not alter Brown’s salary-cap charge or his initial cash flow. The new incentives were added to the original agreement.
Houston brought back Brown during the 2026 offseason on a one-year, $5.5 million contract. He opened the season as the starting right tackle after remaining with the team through its offseason program. Brown has not started all of a season’s regular-season games since 2022, his final year with the New England Patriots.
Pro Football Focus ranked Brown as Houston’s sixth-best pass blocker in Week 1 and its third-highest-rated offensive lineman in that category. He has started 104 of 111 career games and has also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals and Las Vegas Raiders.
