A Nov. 2 opener to a Dec. 22 finale: UNT reveals basketball slate

North Texas will begin its 2026-27 men’s basketball season Nov. 2 against Southwest Christian and finish the nonconference schedule Dec. 22 against the University of the Southwest. The program released the 13-game slate under second-year head coach Daniyal Robinson, with nine contests scheduled at the Super Pit in Denton.

The early home stretch also includes McNeese on Nov. 5, Santa Clara on Nov. 11 and South Alabama on Nov. 14. McNeese and Santa Clara reached the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, while South Alabama played in the NIT. The Mean Green’s first road game is Nov. 20 at App State in Boone, North Carolina.

It will then play in the Snake Rivers Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho, from Nov. 27 through Nov. 29, with Drake, North Dakota State and Boise State listed as opponents.

After returning to Texas, North Texas will host Bradley on Dec. 4 and Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 6. Texas State will meet the Mean Green Dec. 13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth during the Coast-to-Coast Challenge, the program’s second straight appearance in the event. Winthrop and Bethune-Cookman will visit Denton on Dec. 16 and Dec. 20.

The American Conference schedule is expected later. Season-ticket inquiries can be made through the Mean Green Ticket Office at 940-565-2527 or ticketoffice@unt.edu. The office is at Gate 2 of DATCU Stadium and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
