Kenneth Murray, who started every game for Dallas last season, worked out for the Houston Texans on Tuesday but did not sign a contract. Houston is seeking linebacker help after Henry To'oTo'o suffered a shoulder injury.
To'oTo'o was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months. The Texans also moved Jamal Hill from the practice squad to the active roster. Murray could give Houston added depth on its practice squad and potentially be elevated for games, although no agreement was reported.
The Chargers selected Murray 23rd overall in 2020 after he earned All-American honors at Oklahoma. He joined the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and led that team in tackles. Dallas acquired him from Tennessee the following offseason for two draft picks.
Murray recorded 81 tackles for the Cowboys, along with four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one sack and one fumble recovery. He ranked second on the team in tackles.
Murray has worked out for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants since the offseason began. Houston is scheduled to play the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium at noon on CBS.
