Nico Collins has missed two consecutive Houston Texans practices because of a hamstring injury, leaving his status unresolved for the Week 3 meeting with the Indianapolis Colts. Houston has one practice remaining before Sunday’s game, and the team had not announced a final decision on whether Collins would play.
The 27-year-old wide receiver hurt the hamstring in preparation for Week 2 and was absent from Houston’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the Texans’ 36-31 defeat by the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, Collins caught seven of 10 passes thrown his way for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Should Collins miss the game at Lucas Oil Stadium, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see larger roles. Dalton Schultz has produced Houston’s most downfield receiving yardage through two games, with 16 catches for 175 yards. Collins’ next scheduled chance would be Week 4, when the Texans are set to play host to the Dallas Cowboys.
He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, including 1,117 in 2025, so another absence would put that run at risk. The former Michigan Wolverines player also received an offseason contract adjustment from Houston. Sports.yahoo.com published the report, which first appeared on ClutchPoints.
