The Houston Texans have announced that wide receiver Jayden Higgins will miss the entire 2026 season due to a torn ACL. This injury occurred while he was participating in a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, as reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Higgins, who was drafted 34th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, had a successful rookie season, achieving 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns. He became a vital target for quarterback C.J. Stroud after teammate Tank Dell suffered an injury late in the 2024 season.
In the 2025 season, Higgins caught 41 passes out of 68 targets, notably increasing his involvement in the offense during Houston's nine-game winning streak to end the regular season. His scoring improved late in the season, with four touchdowns in the final nine weeks and his highest yardage totals recorded in Weeks 13 and 17.
With Higgins unavailable, the Texans will rely on players such as Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to step up in the receiving lineup. The team remains optimistic about Tank Dell’s potential return from his own injury later in the season. No further information on Higgins' recovery timeline has been released.
