Lee homered twice to right center and finished with three RBIs, accounting for San Francisco’s runs in the third, eighth and ninth innings. Webb earned the win to move to 7-7, allowing five hits with one walk and eight strikeouts over 6.0 innings.
Giants build the lead
San Francisco, the away team, opened the scoring in the top of the second. Gilbert singled to right, and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo, with Gilbert moving to third on the play. Basabe then hit a sacrifice fly to right that brought in Gilbert, giving the Giants a 2-0 lead.
Lee added to it in the top of the third with a 410-foot homer to right center. That made it 3-0 and accounted for the only earned run charged to Cal Quantrill, who took the loss and fell to 4-4. Quantrill worked 6.0 innings, allowing four hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out four.
Lee adds on late
The score stayed 3-0 until Lee connected again in the top of the eighth, sending a 385-foot homer to right center. San Francisco added one more run in the top of the ninth when Lee hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring McCray for a 5-0 lead.
