Lee drives in three, Webb works six scoreless as Giants beat Rangers 5-1

San Francisco Giants 5, Texas Rangers 1 was the final Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, where Lee supplied the biggest swings and Logan Webb controlled the game over six scoreless innings.

Lee homered twice to right center and finished with three RBIs, accounting for San Francisco’s runs in the third, eighth and ninth innings. Webb earned the win to move to 7-7, allowing five hits with one walk and eight strikeouts over 6.0 innings.

Giants build the lead

San Francisco, the away team, opened the scoring in the top of the second. Gilbert singled to right, and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo, with Gilbert moving to third on the play. Basabe then hit a sacrifice fly to right that brought in Gilbert, giving the Giants a 2-0 lead.

Lee added to it in the top of the third with a 410-foot homer to right center. That made it 3-0 and accounted for the only earned run charged to Cal Quantrill, who took the loss and fell to 4-4. Quantrill worked 6.0 innings, allowing four hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out four.

Lee adds on late

The score stayed 3-0 until Lee connected again in the top of the eighth, sending a 385-foot homer to right center. San Francisco added one more run in the top of the ninth when Lee hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring McCray for a 5-0 lead.

Texas scored its run in the bottom of the ninth on Duran’s 406-foot homer to left. It was the third home run of the game, following Lee’s two solo shots.

Pitching and records

Keaton Winn recorded his 12th hold after 0.2 innings, allowing one hit with no walks and one strikeout. Sam Hentges followed with his seventh hold, pitching 1.1 innings without allowing a hit, with one walk and one strikeout. Tristan Beck allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk in 0.1 innings, and Reiver Sanmartin pitched 0.2 innings with no hits, walks or strikeouts.

For Texas, Ben Peoples pitched 1.0 inning with no hits, one walk and one strikeout. Peyton Gray allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk in 1.0 inning, and Nolan Kingham allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks with one strikeout in 1.0 inning.

The attendance was 23,736. Texas fell to 55-58, and San Francisco improved to 48-65.
